Is FacialRate free?
The basics are free: your score, your face type, your strongest feature and all 11 dimensions, with one tip to try. The full report is a one-time $3.99, not a subscription. It adds your exact ranking compared with real people who took the test, a full breakdown of your face type, your closest museum artwork and 15 improvement tips.
Is the score just the golden ratio?
No. Many face-rating tools score a face against a fixed formula such as the golden ratio or facial thirds. FacialRate’s score comes from a machine-learning model trained on a large set of photos rated by people. The golden ratio, symmetry and facial thirds and fifths are still among the 11 dimensions we measure; they simply count as much as those ratings suggest.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Face detection and scoring run in your browser, on your device. Neither your photo nor any face image made from it is ever sent to a server, and you can clear what this device has stored at any time.
No face was detected. What now?
Detection runs on your device, and the usual cause is the photo itself: the face is turned too far, backlit or too dark, covered by a mask or hair, or too small in the frame. A front-facing photo with even light, where your face fills at least a third of the frame, works far more often.
How is my ranking calculated?
Your score is compared with the scores of everyone else who took the test. The more people take it, the more precise the ranking gets. So if you reopen the same report later, the ranking may shift slightly. That’s normal, not an error.
